About Our Breeding Program
Starlux aims to produce only one litter per year. Sometimes there are a couple of years between litters. Our primary goal for our program is to improve the prospects of the upcoming generation and make sure our growing puppies are thriving in their new homes. As a newer breeder, we have diligently crafted our breeding strategies in collaboration with seasoned mentors and fellow breeders. I firmly believe that improving the Border Collie breed necessitates a collective effort within our community.
The puppies we breed are nurtured in a home environment, where they are acquainted with typical household noises and living conditions. We firmly believe that dogs are integral members of the family and thus should be raised within a domestic setting. Socialization is a key aspect of their upbringing, as they interact with other dogs, cats, and even livestock before transitioning to their new homes. Early introduction to grooming practices aims to reduce stress during grooming sessions throughout their lives. Additionally, once they reach an appropriate age, they are given the opportunity to experience car rides, further enriching their socialization experiences.
While a litter is being raised in our home, we utilize the ENS program as well as the Puppy Culture Program. All of our puppies will be temperament tested via a qualified evaluator using the Volhard Puppy Aptitude Test and Pat Hasting's The Puppy Puzzle. We offer lifetime assistance with each and every puppy.
